Primary interest is in work considered from a systems ergonomics perspective (cognitive/physical/social/organisational) - how existing work is affected by automation, algorithms and machine intelligence and how these technologies may also facilitate new forms of work. Specific recent projects have included citizen science, human-algorithm interaction in feature detection and how to introduce prognostic condition monitoring data into established maintenance systems and procedures.
